At
North Western Wool & Hide Co. Ltd our skins
are removed mechanically. The skins are emerged
after slaughter in a bed of salt. After our skins
arrive they are spread to allow excess heat to
be removed. During this stage each skin is preserved
by the addition of salt, to ensure the highest
quality for our customers. Our skins are checked
at this point for any possible damage. Next the
skins are subject to another salting process where
approx, each skin receives 50% min in our salting
baths.
We supply 100% double faced, 100% fellmongering,
run selection, ewe skins, machine
shorn lambs and clipped hoggets We
also offer a wholesale lambskin with larger
sized skins compared to factory size with the
minimal amount of knife damage, making it suitable
for fellmongering.
